One of the primary reasons for having an association is to set and enforce standards for homes in the neighborhood. That is, to ensure the general upkeep of properties in the neighborhood in order to protect home values and maintain a high quality living standard. To achieve these objectives, residents adopted Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions (CC&Rs) and by-laws that specify standards which the properties and the community must meet and rules which all homeowners must follow (for more details see the Enforcement page). The CC&Rs define general standards for properties and require that any substantive changes to properties be approved by the elected board of directors.

As part of our CC&R’s, the board must approve all changes or major work to the outside of the house including:

  • Additions or structural remodels
  • Fence replacement
  • Roofing
  • Painting the house
  • Major landscaping
  • Anything that modifies the outside appearance beyond general landscaping such as planting flowers.

Residents are required to request HOA approval for any such changes.

Architecture requests should contain drawings, sample colors, or brochures to give the board a complete idea of what is being proposed.
